Project 2 – Parables Redesign, pop-up book

In response to the brief question, I believe I shall respond from the standpoint of paper space.

I chose the parables poem and created a book based on it. My complete process and analysis are outlined below.

Poetry comprehension

Initial understanding

My initial impression to this poem was that I sensed the author’s earnest desire to awaken the reader from their state of confusion. The first half of the poem describes people’s apathy toward society. A feeling of numbness when it comes to receiving information.

What I gather is that the author wishes to communicate his unseen struggle against the capitalist bourgeoisie and proletariat, while also condemning society.

Although it is a bard, it is evident that it is a work that can be created by true hip-hop fans: the Wu Tang clan’s articulation and flow run virtually the entire album. The sonorous and tasteful chorus reminds me of Pete rock and Cl smooth’s east coast approach, while the harsh bassline and keyboard are reminiscent of Tyler and the creator in an alternate future period.
KAE tempest’s beautiful description of subjective perspective fascinates me more than its unique cohesive rap (conscience RAP). Now I’ll pick a few pieces that have a particular style and give you a quick overview of Impressionism.

Deep understanding of Parables Lyrics

At first, I read about people’s resentment and sadness about being exploited by capital without even realising it. The language has a strong odour of corruption and fraud, which exposes the lack of consumer guidance. People’s blindness, on the other hand, led them deeper into it, until they became lost. When I realised what was at the root of the problem, I realised that I needed to focus more on my heart and life rather than being compelled to consume by unethical capital.

For example, I sensed a critique of reality in the first paragraph. It describes how people’s decent lives are tainted by their own hypocrisy. It’s like a silent cancer, an illusion that causes people to be perplexed by reality. The heavy odour of dishonesty and deception that emanates from the text reflects the bad supervision that individuals face.

The second paragraph describes people’s apathy with the deterioration. It appears that I have lost my sense of self, that I am trapped in it because I lack original ideas. It was like a kidnapping of a child who had been enticed by sweets. You can’t do anything about the controlled state.

The forces of evil’s disguise is revealed in the third and fourth paragraphs. It’s just a temptation that folks can’t seem to resist. To withstand these temptations, you’ll need a strong heart.

The sixth paragraph is a little lengthier and describes the state of people’s hearts. How brutal is capital’s power? It’s like making a deal with the devil. We must cease making pointless and ill-advised sacrifices. It is critical to comprehend the nature of the world we are confronted with. Attempt to break free from these constraints.

The title is mentioned in the sixth paragraph. It shows the poem’s central idea.

The seventh paragraph seemed to be telling me that we need to act. Keep your inner need for life alive. There will be no going back or hesitating. Because there is no going back when it comes to the powers of evil. We have to race against the clock.

Exploration of manifestations

First of all, the form of three-dimensional book I want to present is to show the content and form of poetry by opening the transformation form presented by the book. I have consulted a lot about the design of three-dimensional books. Simple and powerful changes can increase the interest of books and show readers the book and deep-seated content.

Secondly, I want to show a balance between the bourgeoisie and the proletariat in books in the form of the golden section. The golden section is the best balance, but it is not necessarily equal. Just like this society, although it is not completely equal, it still works well and is full of hope.

I designed some forms of three-dimensional books and the elements I need on my sketchbook and iterated.

Start making my pop-up book. I used wool, Sequin powder, solid glue, hard cardboard and other props. My golden section poster is in the wool pocket at the end of the book.

Then start to typeset the books. After making three-dimensional books, the text part and font part have certain typesetting and design.

OUTCOME

After the three-dimensional book is finished, I think I need to cooperate with a video to tell a story to show my three-dimensional book.

I want to cooperate with my three-dimensional book display through the places I have been to, the scenery I have experienced, the vehicles and people passing by, and the beauty I have seen.

Nature and city, sea and forest are all things I can’t see at ordinary times, but I have really experienced beauty. Every detail of life can make me regain my hope for life. Even if I am surrounded and shrouded by endless darkness, I can break the darkness and usher in the light.
