The first contact with Pecha Kucha is to see the relevant video in class, which is a form of speech. The speech is a form of speech that requires the use of 20 presentations and tells one in 20 seconds, aiming to ensure the concise and fast-paced content of the speech. The aim is to attract more young designers to show their works and exchange ideas.
When I first prepared for Pecha Kucha, I first conceived a theme in my mind, then wrote down what I wanted to express most on paper, and then did mind mapping and brainstorming. Write all the words I can think of about this topic next to the topic. After recording, I’ll look at the words I wrote down again, circle the ones I’m most interested in and want to research and display, and search for pictures and research.
I sorted out a story line based on my words. After looking for 10 pictures, I sorted them. Because my topic is conscious consumption, I want to show my research and opinions on this topic, and then I also found some relevant cases to polish my speech.
When I started my speech, I was quite smooth. It was a good start. I introduced my topic and my general understanding of this topic. Because a picture only takes 20 seconds to make a speech, I tried to speak fast. Then I began to describe the relevant cases I prepared, but because the cases were too long, and I wanted to tell them less rigidly, just like telling stories, there was a problem that they would exceed the expected time. After exceeding the expected time, I could not finish my story when the next picture appeared, It will delay what I want to say later. Finally, I would like to show my preliminary idea of the product I want to make for this project, which is an interactive device and a system software. However, I spent too much time in front of me to tell my case story, which led to the failure of my final introduction of preliminary ideas at the end of the speech, so that the tutors did not fully understand what I wanted to show. But they also gave me great feedback, told me what to do and affirmed me. Entering the second stage of project 4, I will continue to carry out research, and find interesting points and pain points that can be further developed in the process of research, so as to make something that can make the user’s eyes shine.
